FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) — Educators are meeting in Flagstaff this week to share ideas on how best to serve American Indian students.
The American Indian Teacher Education Conference takes place at Northern Arizona University on Friday and Saturday.
Topics include language immersion programs, how to build a sense of identity among Native students, culture and oral tradition. The educators also will discuss how federal policies have impacted the students' learning abilities.
This conference is in its third year.
