BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. (AP) — The Bullhead City Fire Department is investigating the cause of a house fire that resulted in the death of a 2-year-old boy.
Battalion Chief Don Evans says the fire started Monday morning and quickly engulfed the home. Video surveillance from across the street showed the flames taking over within a couple of minutes.
As crews arrived, Evans says heavy fire and smoke were pouring from the home's windows and doors.
Two adults escaped, but firefighters were told a child was trapped inside.
Firefighters quickly put out the flames while they searched the home. They found the toddler's body in a back bedroom.
Evans says investigators were still at the scene Monday afternoon trying to determine what sparked the blaze.
The toddler's name was not immediately released.
