Luke Air Force Base will participate in Independence Day observations throughout the Valley with F-16 flyovers supporting various community events on Monday.

In a release this morning, the based advised “the public should not be alarmed if they observe F-16 aircraft flying over their area or out of the normal flight path for Luke jets.”

July 4 flyovers will begin at 7 p.m. with two simultaneous two-ship formations around the metropolitan area.

One formation will cover Tolleson, Phoenix and Tempe, and the second formation will cover Peoria, Surprise, Goodyear and Litchfield Park.

The evening will culminate with a flight over the base for Luke’s Fourth of July celebration. All flyovers should be completed by 7:40 p.m.

according to the base.
