Surprise Senior Center slates schedule

Surprise Senior Center offers activities and programs for seniors age 60 and older from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at 15832 N. Hollyhock St.

Lunch is served at noon.

A suggested donation for lunch for ages 60 and older is $3.50 and reservations are required 24 hours in advance by calling 623-222-1500.

The senior center is the hub of activities for citizens age 50 or disabled adults.

Membership in the senior center is $12 per year for Surprise residents and $15 for non-residents.

A fitness center is open to seniors from 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.

Gym membership for residents is $30 and for non-residents it’s $35.

A fitness adviser can help individualize workouts.

Activities and menus are subject to change.

The following events are scheduled for the week of July 23-27:

Monday

8 a.m. - Wild Horse Pass casino trip

9:30 a.m. - Email I

10 a.m. No-bake energy bites

10 a.m. - Rummy Q game

10 a.m. - Feel great exercise

11:15 a.m. - Stretch & flex w/Mitzi

Lunch: Chicken cutlet

Tuesday

9:30 a.m. - Indoor walk w/Leslie

10 a.m. - Pokeno

10 a.m. - Guitar I

11 a.m. - Guitar II

1 p.m. - Mah-jongg

Lunch: Braised salisbury steak

Wednesday

9:30 a.m. - Email II

10 a.m. - Game time

10 a.m. - Feel great exercise

11:15 a.m. Stretch & flex w/Mitzi

Noon - July birthday party

1 p.m. - Needlecraft social

Lunch: Grilled all-beef frank

Thursday

10 a.m. Bingo

12:15 p.m. - Dana Ochsner, an LPN from Odyssey Hospice, will discusse vaccines for flu, pneumonia, shingles

Lunch: Manicotti Florentine

Friday

9:45 a.m. - Movie: “We Bought a Zoo”

10 a.m. - Game time & Wii

12:15 p.m. - Ice cream Fridays

Lunch: Stuffed sole
