The Longhorn Steakhouse that will be built near the intersection of Bell and Litchfield roads is expected to employ 180 full- and part-time workers.
The restaurant will take over the site of the TGIFriday’s at 14127 W. Bell Road in Surprise. TGIFriday’s has been razed to make way for the new establishment, which will cover more than 6,300 square feet and provide seating for 242, according to city of Surprise planning documents.
The Longhorn Steakhouse will operate from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. seven days a week, the documents stated.
According to a project summary, the TGIFriday’s building, which received city approval for construction in 2004, could not accommodate the equipment, seating and work flow design of the new restaurant.
The steakhouse will face Bell Road and parking will remain unchanged, the plans stated.
