“A Photographic History of Arizona from Prehistory to the Present” will be offered next month through Explore! Adult Learning, a program sponsored by the Recreation Centers of Sun City West.
It will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 12 in the R.H. Johnson Lecture Hall, 19803 R.H. Johnson Blvd. Open to the public, the cost is $15 per person.
From the geological wonders of the Grand Canyon and the Petrified Forest to cutting-edge biotech industries and Native American art galleries, this pictorial history tours Arizona from prehistory to the present.
Jim Turner, who is retired from the Arizona Historical Society and has been researching and teaching Arizona history for more than 35 years, will lead the class. He is co-author of the fourth-grade textbook, The Arizona Story, and his pictorial history book, “Arizona: Celebration of the Grand Canyon State,” contains more than 530 images.
