The community is invited March 7 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of pioneering health care research and scientific discovery at Banner Sun Health Research Institute.
The event runs from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the center, 10515 W. Santa Fe Drive, Sun City. There will be interactive tours and research presentations. Snacks will be served.
Since its founding in 1986, research by scientists and physicians at the nonprofit institute has produced treatments and prevention for diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, cardiovascular disease and arthritis.
The institute, together with its Arizona consortium partners, has been designated by the National Institutes of Health as one of 29 Alzheimer’s Disease Centers in the United States. It also has developed an international reputation for advancement on age-related diseases.
SHRI is also known worldwide for its Brain Bank, one of the largest in the country.
