A power outage in Sun City early this morning left more than 1,500 customers without power for just more than an hour.
Dan Wool, a spokesman for APS, said the outage occurred at 3:18 a.m. and affected an area between Greenway and Grand avenues and 103rd and 91st avenues. Crews were on the scene for about an hour, he said, and power was fully restored at 4:22. The cause of the power failure was a fault with an underground cable, he said. In all, 1,540 customers were without power, though Wool could not say for sure how many residences that number included.
“When we say customers, what we’re doing is counting meters,” he said. “So that includes all residential and commercial properties.”
