Banner Boswell Medical Center in Sun City will report on advances in treatment for atrial fibrillation at its next session in the Taking Care of Your Heart Series.
The meeting is scheduled from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. June 25 in Memorial Hall, inside the Support Services Building, 13180 N. 103rd Drive, Sun City.
Dr. Mark Burns will discuss cryoablation, which is used to treat atrial fibrillation, the most common and one of the most undertreated heart rhythm disorders. Participants will learn more about this treatment option for patients who are failing to respond to other medications and procedures.
Following the presentation, participants will go into small group discussions with registered nurses, pharmacists, exercise specialists and nutritionists. Participants are encouraged to sign up for multiple classes because presentation topics vary throughout the year.
