The Orpheus Male Chorus of Phoenix opens its 84th season by presenting “Holidays with Orpheus” with a series of three holiday concerts:
• 3 p.m. Dec. 2 at American Lutheran Church, 17220 N. Del Webb Blvd., Sun City.
• 7:30 p.m. Dec. 4 at Velda Rose United Methodist Church, 5540 E. Main St., Mesa.
• 3 p.m. Dec. 9 at Camelback Bible Church, 3900 E. Stanford Drive, Paradise Valley.
This year’s “Holidays with Orpheus” concert will feature traditional pieces such as “Angels We Have Heard on High,” “Carol of the Bells and Sleigh Ride,” as well as a set of three Hanukkah songs and works from modern composers. In addition, ASU faculty member Carole FitzPatrick, soprano, will join the chorus for this concert series.
Founded in November 1929, the Orpheus Male Chorus of Phoenix’s debut performance was on Christmas morning 1929 on KTAR-AM.
