PEORIA, Ariz. (AP) — Police in Peoria say the death of a 2-year-old boy appears to be a tragic accident.

Police spokeswoman Amanda Jacinto said Tuesday that the boy's mother went to check on him and his twin sister and found the boy had fallen out of their small bed and was tangled in a plastic bag's strap. The bag was similar to the ones used to store comforters.

Both mother and father were doing CPR on the child when emergency crews arrived. Jacinto says the child was rushed to a hospital but didn't survive.

Jacinto says the mother had put the twins down for a nap and made the discovery about 4 p.m. Monday. She says officers very strongly believe it was just a tragic and unfortunate accident.
