A 16-year-old Peoria girl was run over Monday by her 16-year-old friend after falling off a car while "hooding surfing," police said.
Mike Tellef, a Peoria police spokesman, said the teenager was on the hood of a Ford Taurus, while her friend drove the vehicle in the 9000 block of West El Caminito Drive. The girl fell off and slid under the car as the friend continued to drive down the street.
Peoria Fire Department extricated the girl from under the Taurus, Tellef said, by using air bags.
She was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix with non-life threatening injuries. Both girls were released to their parents. Police haven't decided what charges, if any, to file.
