Comments 0 | Recommend 0Jazz music lovers in the West Valley can celebrate with a series of concerts from Sept. 21 to Dec. 28.
All concerts in this series will be at Arizona Broadway Theatre, 7701 W. Paradise Lane in Peoria.
The concert series is sponsored by Mike Foulds, a RE/MAX Realtor specializing in residential real estate in Glendale and Peoria.
Featured artists for the series include nationally known recording artists Dennis Rowland, Turning Point and Jay Soto as well as local favorites such as Joe Hopkins and Bridget Maynes. The concerts will explore a wide range of jazz genres such as big band, Motown, classical, and rhythm and blues.
Turning Point featuring the Sahnas Brothers kick off the series with a concert at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 21. Additional concert dates include Motown Magic with Dennis Rowland Oct. 19, Jay Soto Nov. 9, Bridget Maynes Nov. 16, Joe Hopkins and his 52nd Street band Dec. 7 and Extreme Decibel Big Band, featuring Dennis Rowland Dec. 28.
The concert series will also be an opportunity to help fill the empty shelves of Valley View Community Food Bank. All patrons are asked to bring nonperishable food items to the show. Valley View will distribute the food to families in need.
“We are so excited to bring a fabulous series of jazz concerts to a great venue, Arizona Broadway Theatre," said Jean Bayus, concert promoter and jazz enthusiast. "Now, West Valley residents don’t have to drive to Scottsdale to hear terrific jazz music. We’ve brought the best in jazz to you!”
