Blood drive planned at Del E. Webb

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center will have a blood drive from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. July 10 in the auditorium, on the first floor of the Louisa Kellam Women’s Center at Banner Del E. Webb 14502 W. Meeker Blvd., Sun City West.

·        Each day 700 donors are needed at Valley hospitals

·        Every three seconds someone needs blood

·        More than 38 percent of the population is eligible to donate blood but only 5 percent do.

It is especially important to donate blood during the summer months, when regular donations decrease because winter visitors have gone home and other residents are on vacation. UBS Bloodmobile will also be on the Banner Del E. Webb campus from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Aug. 5.

Special incentives for donating blood include:

·         Blood Buddies – Get a buddy (who has never donated with UBS) to donate, and you will receive two free movie passes.

·         Enter to win a new Saturn – Anyone donating in June or July will be entered to win a new Saturn.

·         Free cholesterol testing with each donation.

Reservations for donation appointments for both dates are required. Call the Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center Volunteer Desk at 623-214-4233.
