A 61-year-old Sun City woman is recovering from injuries she received when she was beaten and abducted Saturday from her yard in Sun City, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.

The incident happened at about 9:30 a.m. in the 10043 block of West Ocotillo Drive, south of Bell Road.

The victim was reportedly forced into the back of a vehicle driven by a 30- to 40-year-old black male.

The victim started to scream and the suspect pulled over about seven blocks away and told the victim to run.

The suspect vehicle is described as a dark gray, late-model, American-made, four-door car.

The investigation is ongoing, and the victim is recovering, MCSO officials said.
