SHRI sets up July, August tours
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Sun Health Research Institute offers free public tours each month to give the community a peek into research discoveries in diseases, such as Alzheimer's, cardiovascular disease and Parkinson's.
The next public tours will be from 10:30 a.m. to noon July 7 and Aug. 4 at 10515 W. Santa Fe Drive in Sun City. Space is limited. Call 623-875-6565 to register.
Visitors will be led on a 90-minute tour through various areas of the research institute, including laboratories that concentrate on discovering new treatments for Alzheimer's, fibromyalgia and arthritis. Participants will:
- Tour the one of the largest brain banks in the world.
- Learn about adult stem cells and how they are being used to help cure cardiovascular disease.
- Hear about cutting-edge clinical research studies.
- Hear from leading scientists as they describe their research.
Tours are conducted regularly on the first Tuesday of each month unless otherwise indicated.
