SWAT team coaxes man out of hiding in SCW
Comments 0 | Recommend 0A Maricopa County Sheriff's Office SWAT team had to be called to Sun City West Thursday afternoon after a man with seven outstanding warrants refused to leave his home. Sheriff's Spokesman Doug Matteson said the situation was resolved without violence, however.
"I believe the SWAT team's arrival pretty much intimidated him into giving up," Matteson said. "He surrendered shortly after the team arrived."
Tony Caracci, 46, had locked himself inside a home in the 14000 block of West Ravenswood Drive. Deputies were on the scene to arrest Caracci on seven warrants, including one for animal cruelty and several more for failure to appear in court. The standoff did not last long, however, as Caracci quickly gave himself up.
"He's in our custody now," Matteson said. "The whole thing was over pretty fast."
