Surprise Dems discuss City Council race, solar energy

July 1, 2009 - 7:43 AM

The Surprise Democratic Club will have its next meeting at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites, 16540 N. Bullard Ave., near the Surprise Stadium, at 1 p.m. July 11.

The doors will open at noon so people can come in and meet some of the members and learn about the club before the meeting begins.

Councilman John Williams will be the guest speaker and will discuss the upcoming Surprise City Council race.

Also, Tom Kociemba will speak about solar energy and how residents can take advantage of solar energy to save money on their electric bill. He will update folks about state legislation, as well as how to put solar panels on your roof, what needs to be done to set up a monthly annuity and about the Solar Investment Tax Credit Program.

Democrats from throughout the West Valley are welcome.

Regular meetings will beat this location the second Saturday of every month at 1 p.m. Doors open at noon.

The club will have a booth at the Surprise Stadium July 4 event and will encourage residents to register to vote, and will supply citizens with the early voter ballot application forms, so they can receive a voter ballot by mail prior to each election to avoid waiting in long lines to vote. If you can't attend this event or the upcoming club meeting, contact the club to be added to the e-mail list.
