Audubon Society offers lecture on Mexican Spotted Owls

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

The public is invited to a free lecture on Mexican Spotted Owls offered by the Sonoran Audubon Society at 7 p.m. March 10 at the Glendale Public Library auditorium, 5959 W. Brown St. (south of Peoria Ave.).

Membership is not required. Refreshments will be served, and there will be a free raffle.

Nighttime animals such as owls must be studied using special techniques. Biologist Amanda Moors will describe how she locates, captures and monitors Mexican Spotted Owls in the Catalina Mountains and the San Carlos Apache Reservation. Moors, a resident of Globe, has studied numerous wildlife species throughout the state.

The Sonoran Audubon Society also offers frequent free bird walks. Check www.sonoranaudubon.org for information.

For information, contact George Wall at 623-875-7057 or gwall5@cox.net.
