Waddell preschool lights candle fund-raiser

Miss Hilary’s Preschool of Waddell will have a candle fundraiser Friday to benefit the Valley View Community Food Bank in Youngtown.

The event will be from 7 to 9 p.m. at The Tiburon Restaurant at the Wildlife World Zoo, 16501 W. Northern Ave., in Litchfield Park.

There will be free appetizers and refreshments provided, along with door prizes, silent and live auctions, and Gold Canyon Candles sold with proceeds going to food bank.

Donations of canned items are also being collected.

Preschool owner Hilary Brown said the school is issuing a challenge for other preschools, churches, parent teacher organization and groups to host their own canned food drives to help Valley View Food Bank.

Last year the preschool collected 203 pounds of food that was donated to the food bank.
