Strikers won't keep majority from shopping at Fry's/Safeway, poll indicates

Picket lines would not affect the grocery shopping patterns of a majority of respondents to the latest yourwestvalley.com poll. Most those taking the poll said they would be willing to cross picket lines if Safeway and Fry's workers walk off the job at 6 tonight. In the poll, 62 percent indicated a strike would not affect their shopping habits while 38 percent said they would not shop at either of the stores during a strike.
Thousands of union workers across Arizona are poised to go on strike today after months of failed negotiations with two major grocery chains.
