Peoria will celebrate the holiday at the 26th annual All-American Festival on Saturday. Gates open at 5 p.m. at the Peoria Sports Complex Mariners practice fields, 16101 N. 83rd Ave. south of Bell Road. Admission is $5 for those 13 years and older; 12 and under are free.
No alcohol will be allowed inside. Beer will be available for purchase as will food.
The evening includes the country tunes of Mary Hoffman and the Red Sky Band on the KMLE Country Zone, and the Rock-N-Roll jams of the Rebel Jack Band on the KDKB Rock Zone.
If you need to cool off, head over to the Water Zone, or have your kids play in the Kids Zone.
At 9:15 p.m., there will be 20 minutes of fireworks.

SURPRISE
Baseball and fireworks will be some of the highlights of the city of Surprise's 27th annual 4th of July Celebration.
The Community and Recreation Services Department is hosting from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, with live entertainment, food and family activities at the Surprise Recreation Campus, at 15850 N. Bullard Avenue in Surprise.
The evening's highlight is a 20-minute firework show set to patriotic music starting at dusk.
Surprise Stadium offers a free ticketed event featuring a rookie league baseball game between the Texas Rangers and the Chicago Cubs.
Concession stands will offer a variety of food and ice cold beverages including $1 peanuts, popcorn, frozen fruit pops and $2 hot dogs and soda (limit two per transaction). The celebration is a free family event, with a donation of a canned food item, which will be donated to the Valley View Community Food Bank. Space is limited to the first 10,000 (stadium capacity). Tickets will be required for admission and should be picked up at the Community & Recreation Services Office, at 15960 N. Bullard Ave.
A Kid Zone, with giant slides, obstacle courses, face painters and balloon twisters, are available for children for a $2 charge.
Surprise Community Park, at 15953 N. Bullard Ave., offers live entertainment beginning at 6 p.m.
Families can enjoy live stage entertainment featuring "This Ain't LA" at the Surprise Community Park. Bring blankets and lawn chairs.
There will be more free music at the Surprise Recreation Campus 8-acres park, 15850 N. Bullard Ave., starting at 6 p.m.
Families there can also enjoy live music featuring "The Hype" at the 8-acre grass area directly north of the stadium. Bring blankets, lawn chairs and the family.
A 4th of July Pool Party for Surprise residents only is planned at the Surprise Aquatic Center, 15831 N. Bullard Ave.
The event, which provides a great view of the fireworks, begins at 5 p.m. and will consist of swimming, games, activities and a hot dog, chips and a drink.
Tickets, at $6 per person for Surprise residents, are available at the Surprise Aquatic Center or at the Surprise Community and Recreation Services Office, next to Surprise Stadium.

SUN CITY
The Recreation Centers of Sun City will honor tradition this Fourth of July with the Ring That Bell ceremony at the Bell Recreation Center, featuring a decorated former FBI special agent as the keynote speaker.
At 9 a.m. in social halls 1 and 2, Sun City residents and friends will take the time to honor the principles on which the United States was founded.
Ray Mills will emcee the program as Uncle Sam, and with his wife Betty as Betsy Ross, will greet residents. Sgt. Richard Luders, American Legion John Harries Post 101 of Sun City, will present the colors. The Rev. Stan Giza, St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church, will provide the invocation. Bill Lohmeyer, a Sun City resident, will be the vocalist and lead the audience in several patriotic songs.
The keynote speaker for the ceremony will be Constable Ron Myers of the Arrowhead Justice Court, which serves all of Sun City, part of Youngtown, most of Peoria and Glendale north of Bell Road. Myers is a 1969 graduate of the University of Arkansas-Little Rock with a degree in business administration. In 1970, he became a special agent for the FBI, a position he held until his retirement in 2000. During his career, he served in Albany and Ithaca, New York; Philadelphia and Phoenix. He was assigned to Phoenix from 1973 to 2000. Myers worked on a variety of cases during his time in the FBI, ranging from background investigations to bank fraud, bank robbery, fugitives, public corruption, interstate stolen property, domestic terrorism and drug matters. During his last three years, he served as the principal firearms instructor responsible for all firearms training for the FBI in Arizona.
The Sun City All Stars stage band celebrates its 13th anniversary with a concert at 6 p.m. Saturday in the Congregational Church of Sun City, 18401 N. 99th Ave. The All Stars is made up of 22 musicians with a varied background of musical experience. The band is directed by Sherman Handyside and Jane Higgs is the vocalist. The concert is open to the public. Tickets are $10 and include refreshments - watermelon, cookies, iced tea and soda pop. SUN CITY WEST
In honor of Independence Day, the Recreation Centers of Sun City West is introducing a new act to its portfolio of entertainment. Voice of the Desert, a four-part, a cappella harmony women's chorus, will entertain at a free concert at 3 p.m. Saturday in the air-conditioned comfort of Palm Ridge Recreation Center, 13800 W. Deer Valley Drive.
The show will include tunes from the chorus' 1940s-inspired show, "Canteen Memories" and a package of patriotic music for the holiday. LITCHFIELD PARK
The Wigwam Golf Resort & Spa will celebrate the Fourth of July from 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday with fireworks and the Great American Picnic.
A free event on the resort's front lawn is open to the public and includes hayrides, history tours across the Wigwam grounds, children's arts & craft activities, fireside s'mores and storytelling, a DJ spinning American classics, a display of the latest military vehicles and equipment from the 944 Reserve Wing stationed at Luke Air Force Base, an F-16 flyover and, of course, fireworks at 9 p.m.
The Great American Picnic also will feature a family-style barbecue with live entertainment from 5 to 9 p.m. for $15 for adults and $9 for children under 10.
