Comments 0 | Recommend 0

A Sock Hop from 6 to 11 p.m. Feb. 27 will benefit Relay for Life of Peoria.

The themed event will be in the Kiva Club at Trilogy at Vistancia and include dinner, dancing, entertainment, raffles, prizes and a no-host bar. Tickets are $25 a couple or $15 for one.

Dress in your best “sock hop” attire and raise money and awareness to fight cancer. Dance to the music of the 1950s provided by DJ J.R. and Michelle, dine on food provided by Texas Roadhouse, participate in the $1 dance with Mayor Bob Barrett and his wife and enter contests to win prizes for best dressed couple, single and more.

Relay for Life of Peoria is an all-night event, which will be April 24-25 at Peoria Sports Complex. Hundreds of people from various relay teams will be walking the baseball track all night to raise money for cancer research, education and awareness since “cancer never sleeps.”

The theme, “Rockin ‘N Walkin in the Fight Against Cancer,” will also honor cancer survivors, who will take the initial victory lap to kick off the relay and honor the courage of family and friends who have defeated cancer, celebrate their victory and unite participants in hope.

For tickets, contact the Peoria Chamber of Commerce at 623-979-3601m and for information about Relay for Life of Peoria, contact chairwoman Gina Kowacz at relay@nlcc.org or 623-695-8058.
