Programs deliver help to Parkinson's patients
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Parkinson Disease 202 is a four-week seminar course, two hours each session, for people with Parkinson’s disease and their families.
The course provides in-depth information and practical suggestions concentrating on the most bothersome non-motor symptoms impacting quality of life. Topics covered included fatigue and energy management, working through depression and anxiety, cognitive changes and keeping relationships healthy and balanced.
The seminar will be Jan. 7, 14, 21 and 28 in Desert Palms Presbyterian Church, 13459 W. Stardust Blvd., Sun City West.
There is no charge for the course, but registration is required to ensure course material.

Golf Clinic for People with Parkinson’s Disease
Sun City Country Club will sponsor a five-week golf clinic designed for people with Parkinson's disease who hope to improve their game or who have stopped playing because of complications from the disease. Each session will include one hour of group golf instruction with a PGA professional, an hour of education about managing Parkinson's with your golf (nutrition, medication, stretching and strengthening) and a nutrition break. During the last session, participants will be able to test their game in a skills challenge.
Sun City Country Club is at 9433 N. 107th Ave., Sun City.
The clinic will be from 9 a.m. to noon Jan. 11, 25, Feb. 2, 9 and 16. Cost is $30 and includes a luncheon at conclusion of the skills challenge the last day. Registration is required. Call 602-406-6903 for information and to register.
