Peoria author releases inspirational adventure for kids

One child’s faith can change the future, and local author Donna Deines, of Peoria, reveals how in her new kids’ book releasing nationwide this month, “The Remarkable Red Rock.”

In the story, a storm in the distance threatens to change Timothy’s happy life with his parents and his beloved dog, Blackey, if it floods their farm and destroys the crops they need to survive.

But when Timothy wakes to find a colored mist flowing in, and a white gem rolls out of a red rock he treasures, the gem takes the boy and his dog on the adventure that can bring help to the family farm.

Deines reveals whether Timothy has the faith required to achieve his goal, or if he’ll give up when the rain begins and danger threatens his mission.

Deines earned a Bachelor of Science from Southern Illinois University. As a short-story writer, she aims for the young generations in this world to dream the possible. She has two sons and five grandchildren.
