Comments 0 | Recommend 0

Approximately 15 to 20 illegal immigrants ran from a broken-down pickup truck Monday morning on Interstate 10 near 24th Street, according to an Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman.

Around 7 a.m., DPS officers responded to a call regarding the vehicle. DPS officer Marc Snyder was injured while attempting to take a combative person into custody. Snyder was taken to a hospital, where he was treated and released.

About 10 of the suspected illegal immigrants ran to a drainage ditch.

The illegal immigrants are in the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. One was treated at a hospital for minor injuries.
