DUI task force sweeps through West Valley

The West Valley DUI Task Force will be on patrol from 7 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Saturday, concentrating on enforcement in Glendale.
The police departments from Glendale, Peoria, Surprise, El Mirage, Tolleson and Goodyear along with representatives from Mothers Against Drunk Driving are supporting the event.  
Officials said the intensive patrolling has proven to be an effective method for the prevention of impaired driving as well as the detection and apprehension of impaired drivers.
The West Valley DUI Task Force will set up command at the Glendale Police Department Gateway Substation at 6200 N. 83rd Ave.
