The Collings Foundation's Wings of Freedom Tour is bringing three refurbished World War II aircraft to the Glendale Airport Tuesday through April 24.

Visitors can tour a B-24 Liberator, a B-17 Flying Fortress and a rare dual-control P-51 Mustang (adults $12, $6 for children under 12). For a tax-deductible donation, take a 30-minute flight in one of these planes.

The B-17 and B-24 bombers were the backbone of the American air war from 1942 to 1945 and were famous for their ability to sustain damage and still accomplish the mission. The P-51C is a rare two-seat model used to train pilots.

Flights on the P-51C are $2,200 for 30 minutes and $3,200 for a full hour. For reservations and information on flights, call 800-568-8924.

Tour hours are noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and April 23 and 9 a.m. to noon April 24.

Glendale Municipal Airport is at the intersection of Glendale Avenue and Glen Harbor Boulevard.
