Glendale, Peoria nonprofits awarded grant funds from Cox
Comments 0 | Recommend 0A Glendale non-profit and Peoria non-profit were recently awarded grant funds from Cox Charities-the employee funded philanthropic arm of Cox Communications.
Glendale’s Back to School Clothing Drive Assn. was awarded $6,000 for its New Clothes New Beginnings program. This program provides new school outfits and uniforms, backpacks and school supplies for up to 5,500 low-income K-6 grade children throughout the Valley of the Sun. Peoria’s Challenger Space Center Arizona received $5,000 for its e-Missions for Students. The Challenger Space Center’s “e-Mission: Operation Montserrat” utilizes the internet and video conferencing to bring a challenging and unique interactive educational program into grades 6-12 classrooms throughout the state. Since its inception in 1996, Cox has awarded more than $2.4 million to Arizona charities that focus on youth and education.
