Comments 0 | Recommend 0

The Surprise Fire Department conducted a multi-agency wildland fire training exercise Wednesday morning in the area of 163rd Avenue and Jomax Road.

Representatives from Surprise fire, Sun City West and Daisy Mountain fire districts, State Land Department and the Department of Public Safety practiced setting up equipment to support air operations.

Additionally, pilots from Department of Public Safety Ranger 41 conducted air operations, including filling the bucket from portable tanks and dropping the water on targets set up in the desert to simulate fire.

This was one of several training exercises conducted recently to prepare for the wildland fire season.
