Occupants of Glendale home escape fire, pet dog dies
Comments 0 | Recommend 0A married couple and their 5 year old granddaughter escaped a fire in their Glendale home around 2:30 a.m. Thursday at 7300 W. Claremont St.
Daniel Valenzuela, a spokesman for the Glendale Fire Department, said the occupants of the home were awake at that time and saw flickering in their lights.
The garage was engulfed by the time firefighters arrived three minutes later.
Valenzuela said there were no injuries to firefighters and a lot of damage to the home. A pet Chihuahua perished in the fire.
He said, “They were fortunate to be awake when this happened.”
There was a working smoke alarm in the house.
Valenzuela said people should make sure they have working smoke alarms and practice escape plans.
The Glendale Fire Crisis Response Team is helping the occupants.
