Elks take children on shopping spree

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

The Sun City Elks took 20 underprivileged children on a shopping spree at JC Penney at Arrowhead Towne Center in Glendale early Saturday morning.

The store opened its doors at 6 a.m. to let the Elks bring the kids in to buy necessities for the season. Each child was accompanied by two club members, who helped them find the right size jackets, pants, underwear, etc. Each child had $100 to spend.

After shopping, the children returned to the Elks Lodge at 10760 W. Union Hills Drive in Peoria for an omelet breakfast hosted by Hickman’s Family Farms.

After breakfast, Santa made a visit to the Lodge, and each child received presents to open.
