LIGHTS OUT?
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Neighborhood faces loss of street lights
The City of Surprise will conduct a final meeting Thursday to encourage property owners in Sierra Montana- Parcel 14 to apply for a Streetlight Improvement District or face power loss of the neighborhood street lights, starting Dec. 7. Extensive efforts to obtain the required number of signatures to form a district have not been successful. Surprise cannot create the district without the signatures of 50 percent plus one of the property owners in Parcel 14. Arizona Public Service cannot continue to provide electricity to the street lights without a district that will pay maintenance and operation of the streetlights. City officials said all property owners living in Sierra Montana- Parcel 14 are invited to a final meeting to review the situation 5 p.m. Thursday at Loma Linda Community Park, at the corner of Mauna Loa Lane and 175th Drive.
