Comments 0 | Recommend 0"Elroy the Elk," the Sun City Elks Lodge mascot was invited by Sharon Forman, community development manager of Interfaith Community Care to visit with men and women at the "Helping Partners" Adult Day Program (on El Mirage Road just north of Bell Road in Surprise), which is tailored to the individual needs of adults with developmental disabilities. As participants are learning more about being healthy, safe, and self-confident, "Helping Partners" invited "Elroy" and his pals to bring their presentation on "Making Smart Choices," which has been shared within 14 Dysart and Peoria Unified School District schools and other community events. The Elks also brought individual colorful activity books. Pictured along with the daily participants of Helping Partners are staff members Kamisha Gooch, program supervisor, and Sharon Forman, community development manager along with Elk Members Hal Whitaker, Ed McDonnell and Elroy the Elk.
