A welcome sight in Sun City
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Sign technicians from the Maricopa County Department of Transportation, with help from members of the Sun City PRIDES, erected 10 new Sun City welcome signs Tuesday morning on 111th Avenue north of Olive Avenue.
In honor of the upcoming 50th anniversary of Sun City, the signs read, "Welcome to Sun City - City of Volunteers."
The sign project was made possible by Maricopa County Supervisor Max Wilson, his staff and the support of the Sun City 50th Anniversary Committee, Sun City Home Owners Association, Sun City Visitors Center, Sun City PRIDES, Recreation Centers of Sun City and Civic Foundation of Sun City.
"A special thanks goes to Walt Patterson, president of SCHOA, and Paul Herrmann, director of the Sun City Visitors Center, for their time and effort. This is a tribute to what can be done when people work together," said R.E. Bondon, a member of the Sun City Landscape Committee.
