Community, city offices close for the holiday

RCSC

Holiday hours for the Recreation Centers of Sun City are:

Thursday: All recreation centers will close at 4 p.m.; the bowling centers will be open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Mojoe’s Restaurant will be open from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.; the snack shops will be open from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and the Pro Shops will be open from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.

On Christmas Day, the only recreation center facilities to remain open will be Mountain View and Sundial. Those rec centers will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oakmont lawn bowl will be open at 1:45 p.m. All other offices and recreation centers will be closed on Christmas Day.

 

PORA

The Property Owners and Residents Association offices will close at noon on Thursday and will open again on Monday. PORA also will be closed on Jan. 1.

 

VISITORS CENTER

The Sun City West Visitors Center will be closed Friday but will be open as usual on Saturday and Sunday. The Visitors Center also will be closed Jan. 1.

 

RCSCW

Administrative offices, including Member Services and the Box Office, will close at noon Thursday and will be closed Christmas Day.

The library will close at noon Thursday and will be closed Friday. It will reopen with regular hours on Saturday.

The Village Store will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday. It will be closed Friday and will reopen regular hours from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

Golf courses will be open regular hours throughout the holiday. The Golf Operations office will be closed Friday.

All recreation centers and associated facilities will close at 6 p.m. Thursday and remain closed on Christmas Day.

The Sports Pavilion will be open from noon to 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday.

 

YOUNGTOWN

Town offices will close at noon on Thursday and be closed on Christmas Day.

 

SURPRISE

Offices will be open normal hours on Thursday. All city offices will be closed on Christmas Day.

 

PEORIA

Peoria city offices will be closed for the holidays from Friday through Jan. 3.

Police and fire stations, libraries, parks, Peoria Dial-A-Ride and the Rio Vista Recreation Center will maintain normal operating hours during that time.

Water customer service representatives will be available for emergencies and move-in/move-outs only by calling 623-773-7160.

All city departments will be back to normal operating hours on Jan. 4.

 

GLENDALE

Glendale city offices will be closed Friday.

Residential garbage and recycling collection shifts one day later; therefore, residents who normally receive service Friday will receive service Saturday.

The Glendale Municipal Landfill will be open from 7:30 a.m. to noon Thursday and will be closed Friday. For information about the city’s sanitation services, call 623-930-2660.

Fixed Route buses will run the normal weekday schedule. The Gus Bus route will only operate on one route. For details about the holiday transit schedule, call 623-930-3500. Dial-A-Ride will operate both days. Rides for these days need to be scheduled early, as the dispatch office will be closed during the holiday.

The Glendale Visitor Center will be open from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, closed Friday and will reopen from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

The Glendale Municipal Airport will remain open during the holiday but the airport’s administrative offices will be closed. Glendale’s three public libraries also will be closed.
