At 7:50 p.m. Nov. 20, police responded to a report of an armed robbery at an apartment in the 15100 block of North 140th Drive in Surprise.
Officers were told a group of seven males was robbed at gunpoint by two subjects who were known to them.
The suspects were identified as Edward Richards, 20, of Goodyear, and Michelle Hernandez, 27, of Surprise.
Witnesses told police the suspects had visited the apartment earlier that afternoon. Witnesses said a short time later, the suspects returned to the apartment, but when one of the victims answered the door, the male suspect displayed a handgun, struck one of the men and robbed everyone present, police said.
The suspects reportedly took wallets, cell phones, keys and prescription medicine from the victims, then fled from the scene.
The suspects were later located at an address in Goodyear, where they were taken into custody.
Both Richards and Hernandez were charged with aggravated assault and armed robbery and booked into the Maricopa County Jail.
