Surprise to host Angel investor event
Comments 0 | Recommend 0A new angel investment group has emerged and is looking for investors and new opportunities in the West Valley – and the public is invited for the launch.
“The Surprise Angel Investment Forum” will be at Surprise City Hall from 5 to 7 p.m. Jan. 26. The event is free, however registration is required. Register online at www.aztechcelerator.com, or call 623-556-5030.
Wayne Stutzer, financial analyst for RBC Dain Rauscher, offering financial advice for years on local radio and TV outlets, will be the keynote speaker. The event will be co-hosted by the Communiversity@Surprise and the Surprise Regional Chamber. Sponsorship opportunities are available; call 623-222-3322 to learn more.
The Surprise Angels will be based at the AZ TechCelerator, 12425 W. Bell Road, the new technology incubator recently formed in Surprise.
“As we get more familiar with Surprise, we are amazed by the wealth of prospects surrounding the AZ TechCelerator,” said Rick Gibson, director at-large. “I am struck by the immense value of professional talent in the local retirement communities, the Sun Health Research Institute and Brain Center, and to top it off, we have the power of hundreds of high-net worth individuals living in our own neighborhood.”
Gibson is an Arizona-based investor and advisor, immersed in building fast-growth companies via his firm HOTventures (http://www.hotventures.com/), and is involved with several of Arizona’s leading angel groups and tech incubators.
“This meeting is a chance for businesses and entrepreneurs to meet us and one another; get familiar with investor requirements; the screening process and more,” says Fred Weih, Surprise Angels executive director.
