Teen dies in ATV crash
Comments 0 | Recommend 0An all-terrain vehicle accident in Peoria Friday afternoon took the life of a 15-year-old boy, said Mike Tellef, Peoria Police spokesman.
The accident took place at 4:20 p.m. near the 25800 block of North 102nd Avenue, just south of Jomax Road. Tellef said five teenagers were riding on an ATV meant for two passengers, when the person operating the vehicle lost control and struck a retaining wall.
The boy, a freshman at Liberty High School who has not yet been identified, was ejected from the vehicle. He was flown by helicopter to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Tellef said the only other injured party in the accident was one person who suffered a broken arm.
