It would be difficult to find anyone alive who loves standing in line. There are just so many better things to do.
The people at the Arizona Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Division get that. We are people too, and we know lines are no fun. In fact, our vision is to get people out of line and safely on the road.
Using consumer-friendly technology is one of the ways we are doing that, and it has a meaningful impact on the people who call El Mirage and the rest of the West Valley home.
El Mirage is one of the growing number of communities that has an MVD kiosk located in the Municipal Courts building, 1410 N.
El Mirage Road. Other West Valley kiosk locations are the Surprise City Courts building, 16081 N. Civic Center Plaza, Surprise, and the City Courts building, 5711 W.
Glendale Ave., Glendale.
More than half of the transactions you may need to do at MVD can be done at a kiosk. There are no extra fees tacked on, the process is quick, and yes, there is rarely a line.
Among the things kiosks can be used for are renewing a vehicle registration, obtaining a replacement driver license/identification card, address and email changes, filing a sold notice, voter registration, obtaining a copy of your motor vehicle record, getting a disability placard, insurance verification and other transactions that can be done quickly and conveniently.
The kiosks are available whenever the court building operates. Having one there means people who may need to pay a utility bill, clear up a traffic matter or have other business with the city can also take care of some MVD business with one stop.
Terms like “convenient,” “rapid” and “no added cost” might not be the first things that come to mind about the MVD, but that is changing rapidly. We are here to serve you, and it is our commitment to continuous improvement so that you can indeed get out of line and safely on the road.
