The Desert Caballeros Western Museum has two events on tap for visitors.
From 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Bill Green presents his collection of Wickenburg postcards - some of which are 100 years old - in a visual tour of Wickenburg's past. In "Wickenburg Remembered: Postcards from the Past," Green takes visitors back in history to Wickenburg's original guest ranches and more. This lecture is free and open to the public.
On Jan. 22, journey to the historic Bagdad Mine with local historian Joe Stevens. Suit up and travel down the pit into the real workings of the mine in this behind-the-scenes tour of the Bagdad copper operation. Guided by former miners, visitors also will tour the machine shop and learn about the electrolysis and concentration processes of copper. This all-day tour departs from the museum at 8:45 a.m. Tour fee is $50 for members and $75 for nonmembers.
