WHAT ELSE YOU SHOULD KNOW: The menu is subject to change, depending on what the market has to offer, Yasinsky said. A kids' menu is available and offers healthy options. Yasinsky, who hails from Chicago, said Surprise needed a place where people could go for a late-night snack or a light meal. 'They have places like that on the East Coast and a few like it in Scottsdale, but there was a void on the west side,' he said. 'None of the restaurants are truly chef-driven. We offer a distinct style, presentation and service, with creative people who are passionate about their product. We're definitely upscale, but approachable.' The restaurant also offers a bourbon bar, creative cocktails and an ever-changing variety of inexpensive wines imported from all over the world.

UNIQUE TIDBITS: The restaurant smokes its own salmon and only uses the freshest organic produce, Yasinsky said. Chef Aurore began her training as a teenager, graduating from the Cordon Bleu Culinary School in France, and has created dishes for many French government officials and celebrities, as well as the Chicago Four Seasons Hotel, Boeing Corp. and most recently Silverleaf Country Club in the DC Ranch area of Scottsdale.

FUTURE PLANS: Yasinsky said he plans to play host to wine tastings, events and fashion shows in the bar, with fashions from several major designers including Chanel.
