Work begins Monday on Thunderbird Road bridge
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Construction crews will began work Monday on the bridge that carries Thunderbird Road over New River.
This is part of an effort that will widen Thunderbird to three lanes in each direction from Loop 101 west to Peoria's city limits.
Because the city/county line zigzags, widening will take place only on the south, or eastbound, side between 91st Avenue and 94th Drive.
Traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction during the road and bridge work. Temporary left-turn pockets will help maintain access to Rio Vista Boulevard, as well as the gas station and apartment complex across the street.
