Verizon adds 3 cell phone sites in West Valley

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

Wireless users in more West Valley locations are experiencing expanded voice and data coverage thanks to the addition of three new cell sites from Verizon Wireless.

The new sites improve 3G coverage and call capacity for customers in Peoria, along Lake Pleasant Road north to the Carefree Highway and surrounding residential and commercial areas; Surprise's residential areas in the southern part of the city east of Loop 303; and Goodyear, along Litchfield Road from Yuma to Broadway roads and surrounding area.

With the improved network coverage, customers can use their wireless phones and devices to make more calls, send and receive e-mail, text and multimedia messages, download music, games and ringtones and view high-quality videos while on the go.

In the first half of 2008, Verizon Wireless invested more than $60 million in its Arizona network. Nationwide, the company has invested nearly $45 billion since it was formed, $5.5 billion on average every year, to increase the coverage and capacity of its national wireless network and to add services.

"Our network expansion in the West Valley is just another example of how we invest our resources to stay ahead of demand and to make sure that our customers enjoy a superior wireless experience," said Tony Heyman, regional president of Verizon Wireless.

For information about network coverage, Test Drive from Verizon Wireless or any products and services, visit a Verizon Wireless Communications Store, call 1-800-2-JOIN-IN or go to www.verizonwireless.com.
