Surprise gears up for Community Pride Day

The citywide cleanup event will involve 19 neighborhoods and more than 400 homes. Volunteers, individuals and groups should arrive at Surprise Stadium, 15850 N. Bullard Ave., at 7 a.m. Saturday to register.
Volunteers are encouraged to bring hand tools and gloves for weeding. Once they're signed in, participants will receive directions of where to go to begin the clean-up.
Local businesses are donating breakfast, lunch and T-shirts. Volunteers should head back to the stadium between 10:30 and 11 a.m. with filled trash bags for a complimentary lunch.
