A children's merchandise resale store, Once Upon A Child of Surprise, has openend at 13757 W. Bell Road in Suprise.
Owner Judy Peoples said the store features clothing, furniture, toys and books and equipment.

Surprise seeks vendors for fair
Surprise Water Services will sponsor a Going Green Home and Garden Fair May 3 at City Hall, and vendors with environmentally friendly products and services are invited to participate, at no cost.
Vendors are encouraged to attend, including those selling water/energy conservation products.
Vendors will be required to bring their own set-up materials, including tables, booths, chairs or whatever is needed to showcase their products.
The Going Green Home and Garden Fair will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the City Hall Courtyard, 12425 W. Bell Road.
This event is free. Vendors wishing to participate are asked to contact London Lacy at 623-222-7023 or london.lacy@surpriseaz.com to reserve a space.
Goodwill celebrates recycle drive
Goodwill is having an Earth Day Recycle Drive at each of its Valley locations, giving Arizona residents the chance to remove their clutter and clean up the environment.
During the drive April 11-13, individuals are encouraged to bring in all unwanted clothing, household and electronic items to Goodwill stores and donation centers. Items will be inspected for resale and those deemed unsuitable for resale will be recycled or disposed of through eco-friendly methods. Hazardous and controlled substances are prohibited.
Native New Yorkers battle for winners
Peoria and Glendale Native New Yorker restaurants are participating in the Battle of the Bone Wing Eating Contest.
Every Wednesday through Aug. 20, each of the 23 Valley Native New Yorker locations will have a weekly wingoff competition. Each location will crown the weekly "wingoff" winner, who will move on to the Battle of the Bone Finals Aug. 27.
The battle in Glendale is 6:30 to 7 p.m. April 16 at 7273 N. 95th Ave., and in Peoria from 6:30 to 7 p.m. April 23.
Registered contestants will have 11 minutes to devour as many hot wings as they can. Contestants will have to eat the wings to the "bone" with only water available. This contest is open to amateurs only.

Event showcases wedding ensembles
Thee Wedding Warehouse, created and owned by three women with 25 years in the floral and bridal industry, will sponsor a Bridal Event and Trunk Sale from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 12 at 500 N. Bullard Ave., Suite 29, Goodyear.
