Tusayan residents face another incorporation vote
Comments 0 | Recommend 0FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) — The Grand Canyon community of Tusayan will face another election whether to incorporate and become a town.
The election is scheduled for March 9. It follows a contentious September 2008 election in which voters there defeated incorporation by 78-62.
There was also a second attempt to put the incorporation question on the ballot this past summer, which was withdrawn after opponents filed suit.
They called the attempt illegal because it would have been the second election within a year of the first.
The Coconino County Elections Department is seeking arguments "for and "against" incorporation for inclusion in the voters informational pamphlet.
