TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — A former Tucson Unified School District teacher has been sentenced to nearly two years in federal prison for possession of child pornography.

Federal prosecutors say 62-year-old Armando Gonzalez was indicted in 2006 on charges that he was found in possession of more than 100 images of child pornography.

He pleaded guilty in July 2008 and was sentenced Monday to a 21-month prison term.

Gonzalez was employed by TUSD from February 1986 to August 2005.

He spent 32 years as a high school and elementary teacher in Tucson and Bagdad, Ariz., before retiring to Prescott.
