Pima County prosecutors say 27-year-old Julio Camargo pleading guilty in the case Tuesday.
Camargo was arrested in August after police say he and another man forced their way into a room at the Star Motel in search of drugs and money.
When officers from the South Tucson Police Department arrived, they spotted two people in a sport utility vehicle preparing to leave the parking lot.
Police shot Camargo when he drove toward him and refused an officer's commands to stop.
He was treated at a Tucson hospital and then taken into custody.
