The Air Force announced Tuesday that two squadrons of United Kingdom Royal Air Force GR4 Tornados will operate above the southern Arizona skies from February through early March as part of Operation Snowbird.
The Air Force said eight Tornados will operate at Snowbird for the second and third weeks of February.
Then a second squadron of eight Tornados will participate during the fourth week of February and the first week of March.
On arrival and departure, pilots will comply with all of the base's traffic patterns and noise abatement procedures.
Operation Snowbird provides support for visiting flying units from U.S. military installations and allied partners needing to train in the optimal weather conditions and ample ranges of southern Arizona.
